Without Taboos volunteer training

Without Taboos volunteer training

Labrisz's educational program is called Tabuk Nélkül (Without Taboos), and we hold sessions for students, teachers, parents, and companies. Our program employs trained volunteers who demonstrate the difficulties faced by LGBTQ+ people, what social stigma and exclusion mean, and what we can do to create a more accepting world. In this training, we will introduce participants to the theoretical and practical methodology of the educational program, with a strong emphasis on practicing the training exercises. Participants in the training agree to participate in future observations and volunteer meetings as members of the educational volunteer team. Location: Downtown Budapest (to be specified after registration) 11-12 October 2025, 9:00-17:00

Labrisz Picnic

Labrisz Picnic

This year’s Pride is a special one — not only because it marks the 30th anniversary of Budapest Pride, but also because the government has officially banned public Pride events. Naturally, we’ll be there no matter what! In line with tradition — but with added festivity this year — we’re holding the Labrisz Picnic the day after the Pride March, and we warmly welcome all the girls (and non-binary babes) to join us! Come hang out, chat, and play with us again on June 29th from 3 PM on Margaret Island! Location: Budapest, Margaret Island (the first big meadow after the former Holdudvar) — from the “Parkmozi” stop of bus 26, walk toward the Pest side and Árpád Bridge. You’ll find us in just 2 minutes, under a big shady tree at the edge of the meadow. 47,523988, 19,047649 This event is the part of the 30th Budapest Pride Festival.

Joint poster making for the Budapest Pride

On June 27 from 5:00 PM, we’re getting ready for Pride together – with posters, paint, enthusiasm, and lots of laughter in the workshop room on the 5th floor of Nyolcésfél (1084 Budapest, Német u. 16.). This isn’t just a craft afternoon – it’s a shared moment of tuning in and standing up for a common cause! We’ll provide the supplies, but feel free to bring anything you have. And bring a friend too – let’s make our team big and colorful!

Free Saturday – Ask, don't judge!

Do you have a question but aren’t sure if you can ask it? Have you ever heard someone say, “It’s good that there’s Pride, BUT…”? Are you interested in how to talk respectfully about topics for which you’ve never been given a “manual”? Then this event is for you! At this two-part event, you will learn how to have good conversations about LGBTQI+ topics, and then you’ll have the chance to ask LGBTQI+ couples directly about their lives in today’s Hungary.

Labrisz 25 herstory popup exhibition

Labrisz 25 herstory popup exhibition

We are selecting material from last year's Labrisz 25 lesbian herstory exhibition in Budapest for the Budaörs venue. Since BABtér is a community space and filmmaking workshop, the room they have offered to host this historical-artistic exhibition is not an exhibition space, so we are trying to display objects, photos, and archival recordings that truly belong in such a space. Visitors can interpret these as a collection of historical documents, visual and moving image works, or as inspiration for the summer art camp – as "raw material" for an animated documentary film. At the same time, we hope that visitors to the exhibition will follow the work of the filmmaking workshop, come to the screening of the short films, and discover the connections with the archive collection. See you on June 20 at 6 p.m. at the exhibition opening at the Budaörs Animation Base and Creative Space!
