Popup kiállítás: Válogatás a Budapesti Leszbikus Filmbizottság (2000–2006) dokumentumaiból

Budapesti Leszbikus Filmbizottság: 2000-ben alakult meg, ekkor készült el az alkotógárda első filmje, a „Mihez kezdjen egy fiatal leszbikus a nagyvárosban?” A debütálás után további amatőr és profi filmesek, a Labrisz tagjai és barátai csatlakoztak. Szabadon lehetett rendezni, operatőrködni, vágni, színészkedni. Szerepeltek a hazai LMBT fesztivál (ma Budapest Pride) filmes repertoárjában európai és amerikai leszbikus filmfesztiválokon, Prágától Zürichig, Sydneyig és San Franciscóig.
A hat év alatt termelt tíz filmből egy audiovizuális installációs teret állítunk össze, amelyben felmutatjuk a Labrisz, illetve a magyar LMBT-közösség történetének néhány fontos momentumát, a közösség tagjainak hiteles hangján.
Megjelenik például a budai hegyekben titokban megrendezett első Pink Piknik, beleshetünk az Eklektika Tánciskola próbatermébe, vagy egy drag king workshopra. Végigkísérjük Takács Mária Eltitkolt évek című dokumentumfilmjének azon interjúalanyait, akik a fővárosban próbáltak meleg és leszbikus helyeket, társaságot és közösséget találni.
A Filmbizottság archív mozgóképei és a felhasználásukkal létrejött installációk mint kortárs reflexiók mellett négy animációs rövidfilm is helyet kap a kiállítótérben, amelyek a Budaörsi Animációs Bázis és Kreatív Tér és a Labrisz közös gondozásában, egy tavaly nyári alkotótáborban készültek.

Pop-up exhibition: A selection from the archives of the Budapest Lesbian Film Collective (2000–2006)

The Budapest Lesbian Film Collective was founded in 2000, and that same year saw the completion of the collective’s first film, What’s a Young Lesbian to Do in the Big City? Following its debut, more amateur and professional filmmakers, as well as members and friends of Labrisz, joined the collective. Everyone was free to take on different roles, from directing and cinematography to editing and acting. Their films were featured in the film programme of Hungary’s LGBT festival (now Budapest Pride), as well as at lesbian film festivals across Europe and the United States, from Prague and Zurich to Sydney and San Francisco.
From the ten films produced over the collective’s six-year history, we have created an audiovisual installation space highlighting key moments in the history of Labrisz and the Hungarian LGBT community, told in the authentic voices of community members.
The exhibition brings to life, among other things, the first Pink Picnic, secretly organised in the Buda Hills; visitors can take a peek into the rehearsal room of Eklektika Dance School or join a drag king workshop. We also follow the stories of interviewees from Mária Takács’s documentary Secret Years, who were searching for gay and lesbian venues, companionship and community in Budapest.
Alongside the Film Collective’s archival footage and the installations created from it as contemporary reflections, the exhibition also features four short animated films. These were created during a summer creative camp organised jointly by the Budaörs Animation Base and Creative Space and Labrisz.
The moving images featured in the exhibition are part of the Labrisz archival collection.
